Mont Kiara is one of the most popular places for expatriates to live in KL, with international schools, gated condominiums and a large foreign community. But no station is within walking distance, so daily life here depends on a car or Grab, and the roads in and out are busy at rush hour.

Nearest stations
Semantan on the MRT Kajang Line and Segambut on the KTM are both about 2 to 3 km away, depending on which part of Mont Kiara you're in. That's too far to walk comfortably in the heat, so most people drive or take a Grab to the train.
Getting to work
Expect roughly 20 to 40 minutes by car to KLCC or TRX, depending on traffic. Leaving before 7:30 or after 9:30 in the morning makes a big difference.
Schools
Mont'Kiara International School and Garden International School are nearby, which is the main reason many families choose the area.
Future rail
The planned MRT Circle Line is proposed to serve Mont Kiara, but it is years from opening, so don't choose a home here on the strength of it.
